Businessman Giorgi Mikadze, detained in connection with the murder case of businessman Levan Jangveladze, was visited by his lawyer, Mikheil Chkhaidze, at the Digomi pretrial detention facility.

According to the lawyer, Giorgi Mikadze is currently exercising his right to remain silent, and they will determine a specific strategy after reviewing the case materials.

“We have not yet decided on a strategy; he is exercising his right to remain silent. We are waiting for the case materials. His detention came as a surprise to him. He has absolutely nothing to do with what happened,” stated lawyer Mikheil Chkhaidze.

For information, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, three additional individuals have been detained in connection with Levan Jangveladze’s murder case, while charges will be filed in absentia against two individuals who are abroad.

According to the investigation, brothers Giorgi and Davit Mikadze had a conflict with Levan Jangveladze over business-related matters and organized his contract killing. Giorgi Mikadze has been detained, while Davit Mikadze is abroad, and charges will be filed against him in absentia.

As a reminder, Levan Jangveladze was killed on March 14 on Chavchavadze Avenue.
