As a result of operational measures and investigative actions, officers of the Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested N.K., born in 1987, on charges of premeditated murder committed against a family member.

The crime is punishable by up to 20 years or life imprisonment.

"The investigation established that on August 25 of this year, in a residential apartment in Tbilisi, due to a dispute, the accused inflicted multiple injuries on his wife - A.K., born in 1991, using a blunt object and fled the scene. As a result of the injuries sustained, the young woman died at the scene.

As a result of the investigative actions carried out by law enforcement officers, the accused was arrested shortly after the crime was committed.

The investigation is underway under Article 109, Subsection "k" of the Criminal Code, which refers to premeditated murder committed against a family member under aggravating circumstances," reads the information released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
