During six months, the Georgian public has seen more than enough evidence that the “United National Movement” and its branches, as a regime, should not exist in Georgian politics – I very much hope that after the constitutional lawsuit, the Constitutional Court will not need much deliberation to conclude that such a so-called political party and its branches should not exist in Georgian politics, – said Guram Macharashvili, MP from “People’s Power” and member of the Parliament’s Temporary Investigative Commission, in a statement to journalists.
According to him, after six months of work, the Investigative Commission will present its conclusion at the plenary session.
“For six months, the Georgian public has seen more than enough evidence that the ‘United National Movement’ and its branches, as a regime, should not exist in Georgian politics. The Georgian people will see this once again in the conclusion that we will present at the session – it will be public, and I very much hope that after the constitutional lawsuit, the Constitutional Court will not need much deliberation to establish that such a so-called political party and its branches, which created regimes that even the Strasbourg Court called criminal regimes, should not exist in Georgian politics,” – said Macharashvili.
