The verdict in the case of Zviad Tsetskhladze and seven other individuals, detained on charges of organizing and participating in group violence, will be announced on September 2.
The hearing is scheduled for 12:00 at the Tbilisi City Court. At this time, Judge Nino Mchedlishvili is expected to deliver the verdict. She went into deliberation on August 27.
The prosecution expects a guilty verdict. The prosecution anticipates a guilty verdict for both those accused of organizing group violence and those accused of participating in it.
The defense attorneys, however, believe that no evidence proving the guilt of the detained individuals has been presented, and the judge will not be able to issue a guilty verdict.
For reference, Vasil Kadzelashvili, Vepkhia Kasradze, and Zviad Tsetskhladze have been charged under Article 225, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which pertains to the organization and leadership of group actions. This offense carries a penalty of imprisonment for 6 to 9 years.
Insaif Aliyev, Tornike Goshadze, Nikoloz Javakhishvili, Irakli Miminoshvili, and Giorgi Gorgadze have been charged under Article 225, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which pertains to participation in group violence. This offense carries a penalty of imprisonment for 4 to 6 years.
