The Georgian authorities responded yesterday to the letter sent by the Commission on July 14, stated European Commission spokesperson Markus Lammert during a briefing, in response to a question about visa liberalization posed by Tamar Nutsubidze, editor of Euroskeptic.

“Yes, I can confirm that the Georgian authorities responded yesterday to the letter sent by the Commission on July 14. We will now evaluate the response sent by Georgia. The European Commission expects the Georgian authorities to take concrete steps regarding the issues outlined in the recommendations,” said Markus Lammert.

When asked about the content of the letter, Lammert responded that the Commission does not make such correspondence public.

“I cannot discuss the details. As you know, we do not make such correspondence public,” noted the European Commission spokesperson.
