Giorgi Terishvili: I am not guilty of any crime! The greatest culprits are the Prime Minister of “Georgian Dream” and the prosecution, who are sitting in front of us now and cannot lift their heads – this is how you will be your entire life, unable to raise your head!

“I have committed no crime. The biggest criminals are the ‘Georgian Dream’ Prime Minister and the prosecution sitting in front of us now, unable to lift their heads. You will live like this your whole life, unable to lift your heads,” said Giorgi Terishvili, detained during a protest action, in his final statement at the court hearing.

As Terishvili noted, Georgia has many heroes, and this government is tarnishing their names.

“I have committed no crime. The biggest criminals are the ‘Georgian Dream’ Prime Minister and the prosecution sitting in front of us now, unable to lift their heads. You will live like this your whole life, unable to lift your heads… We’ve been in prison for nine months, with no evidence… For nine months, they stripped us of all our rights, fabricated our cases as they pleased, and they don’t even have the decency to do it properly…

I want to tell the prosecution: you brought false witness police officers here who sat and were ashamed of themselves, blushing at their own words…

This country is full of such lying police officers, such liars. When lawyer Chomakhashvili asked one of the false witnesses a question, he couldn’t answer and asked, ‘Can you repeat that?’ Meanwhile, the prosecutor sent him a message telling him what to say, and we all clearly saw it. So, Your Honor, I had no connection with the friends sitting beside me; I met them here at the hearing…

When I was detained, the investigator took my phone, and I gave him the phone’s code myself. Nine months have passed, but there’s no evidence to establish that we had any connection with each other. They couldn’t establish it because we met each other in this courtroom. I want to say this: we are being tried for loving Georgia, for standing there to protect our Georgia, because we want Europe and not Russia…

We have a government that is pulling toward Russia… The executioner [Tea] Tsulukiani came out and blamed Georgia. This is the kind of government we have, and we must remove it soon,” Giorgi Terishvili stated, as reported by Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty in his final statement.
