Actor Irakli Kvirikadze commented on the court’s decision, which sentenced 11 individuals, including Andro Chichinadze, to two years in prison for their alleged participation in organized group violence.
According to him, it is essential for society’s struggle to continue, as it is already yielding results.
"There was no other expectation. The expectation that [Nino] Galustashvili would make an independent decision was an illusion, and no one really believed it. Unfortunately, our expectations were confirmed, though she failed to justify why these people were kept in custody. We must not stop; the main thing is to continue what we are doing, stick to our agenda, and dedicate ourselves to it. First and foremost, this is crucial for the prisoners and for the country, to save the nation. It is producing results; we see changes in their situation. They are not doing well. No one should believe that anyone in this self-proclaimed government is doing well. We must move forward step by step and continue what we are doing," said Irakli Kvirikadze.
The 11 individuals detained on charges of participating in organized group violence—Andro Chichinadze, Onise Tskhadadze, Jano Archaia, Ruslan Sivakov, Luka Jabua, Guram Mirtskhulava, Valeri Tetrashvili, Giorgi Terishvili, Irakli Kerashvili, Revaz Kiknadze, and Sergei Kukharichuk—were found not guilty of the initial charge by the court. However, the charge was reclassified, and they were found guilty of participating in group actions.
Judge Nino Galustashvili sentenced each defendant to two years of imprisonment.
