The Prosecutor's Office of Georgia has charged one person with the illegal acquisition and storage of firearms.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, an investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs established that the accused had illegally acquired and stored firearms. During a search of the detainee's residence, 22 firearms of various types and 810 cartridges were seized, which have been sent for relevant examinations.

“Law enforcement officers arrested the accused on September 2, 2025, on Rustaveli Avenue. He was charged under Part 1 of Article 236 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (illegal acquisition or storage of hunting firearms).

The Prosecutor's Office will apply to the Tbilisi City Court within the time limit established by law with a request to apply pre-trial detention,” reads the information.
