Kakha Kaladze: If the opposition dares to do something against the law, they will be given an appropriate response and will be punished most severely

Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze’s statements and the opposition’s promises regarding the “peaceful overthrow” of the government are intended to ingratiate themselves with their own supporters.

As Kaladze told journalists in response to a relevant question, if someone commits an act against the law, the strictest legal response will be ensured.

“These statements are made to somehow inflame their supporters. They say a thousand nonsense. I will say it very simply: if they dare to do something against the law, they will be given an appropriate response and will be punished most severely, of course, within the framework of the law,” Kakha Kaladze said.

As for the relationship between the opposition parties, the mayor says that he does not want to get involved in this controversy.

"The opposition itself is unclear. I don't want to talk about their confrontation at all. I am in the election campaign mode, meeting with the population, talking about the future of the city, future projects, and how important it is to maintain peace for the future of this country," said Kakha Kaladze.
