In the second match of the 2026 World Cup qualifying group stage, the Georgian national team defeated Bulgaria.

The scoring was opened by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the 30th minute. The lead was extended to two goals by Nika Gagnidze, who scored his debut goal in the 44th minute, just before the end of the first half. The third goal for Bulgaria was scored by Giorgi Mikautadze in the 65th minute. Thus, the match ended with a 3:0 score in favor of Georgia.

The second match of the 2026 World Cup qualifying group stage was held at the Dinamo Arena.

As a reminder, in the first match of the qualifying stage, Georgia was defeated by Turkey.

In total, during the six-match qualifying stage, the Georgian national team is competing in Group E against Turkey, Spain, and Bulgaria. The group winner will automatically qualify for the World Cup, to be held in Canada, Mexico, and the USA. The second-placed team will continue its fight for the World Cup in the playoff stage.
