According to Dimitri Khachidze, lawyer of former Defense Minister Juansher Burculadze, Burculadze has been prescribed a bed rest regime, which made it necessary to call an ambulance at the time of his arrest.

The lawyer explained that Burculadze sustained an injury a few days ago under ordinary household conditions.

“An ambulance was necessary because a few days ago he suffered an injury at home and has been on bed rest. Therefore, the doctor recommended transporting him by ambulance. A few days ago, he suffered a concussion at home. A person can fall simply — what’s the problem? He was at home, and while moving, he fell, was injured, and suffered a concussion. He has been on bed rest for several days,” the lawyer said.

Khachidze also noted that he had not watched the State Security Service briefing and that relevant procedures had already begun by the time he arrived on site.

“They called me to say they were coming to detain him. When I arrived, the procedures had already started,” the lawyer stated.

For reference, former Defense Minister Juansher Burculadze has been arrested. According to the State Security Service, Burculadze was arrested on charges of abuse of official powers and legalization of illegal income, which involved receiving an especially large amount of income.
