MIA: About 30 activists confronted several citizens, one of whom demonstrated a pistol, the activists tied him up and seized the weapon, which was likely a pneumatic pistol - a minor has been detained

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a person born in 2009 was arrested on charges of illegal purchase, storage and carrying of firearms and ammunition, who was demonstrating weapons to the participants of the demonstration.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs released information about the incident on Besiki Street, stating that about 30 activists verbally confronted several citizens at the intersection of Rustaveli and Besiki Streets, one of whom demonstrated a pistol, causing two participants of the demonstration to chase him.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the said person entered a cafe located near Besiki Street, where the activists tied him up and seized the weapon, which, upon initial examination, is likely to be a pneumatic pistol.

According to the agency, if confirmed, the crime provides for 7 years of imprisonment.

"Officers of the Patrol Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested D.G., born in 2009, on charges of illegal purchase, storage and carrying of firearms and ammunition.

The investigation establishes that on September 15, 2025, about thirty activists marching from the area adjacent to the Public Broadcasting building verbally confronted several citizens at the intersection of Rustaveli and Besiki Streets, one of whom demonstrated a pistol, as a result of which two participants of the rally chased him. The said person entered a cafe adjacent to Besiki Street, where the activists tied him up and seized the weapon, which, upon initial inspection, is likely to be a pneumatic pistol.

The activists handed over the said person and the seized weapon to the Patrol Police officers.

The mentioned crime is punishable by 7 years in prison," reads the information.
