Dimitri Tskitishvili: I publicly announce that my path has parted from the Gakharia for Georgia political party

I publicly announce that my path has parted from the Gakharia for Georgia political party, - Dimitri Tskitishvili writes on social media.

He said that he will not be able to officially leave the party, since he was not formally a member.

“The reason is not simply a difference of opinion on whether to participate in the elections or not, but a fundamental difference regarding the issue of elections.

The October 4 elections will not and cannot be a tactical, phased issue for me, despite the fact that I am generally a supporter of the institutional democratic struggle.

In the current situation, participation in the elections in such a form and dynamics will not serve the country’s return to democracy.

I have said publicly several times and I repeat it now: participation in the elections would make sense only in the case of coordinated action of political forces, with at least a small chance of defeating the regime in an unfair political struggle.

Unfortunately, the fragmentation of the political forces that exist today is the most unfavorable way to support public protest and defeat the regime.

I want to believe that any path will bring results, although we all need to understand that on October 5, there will be a different reality and we must be ready for it!", the politician wrote.
