Serious preparations are underway for October 4, and anything could happen, said Akaki Bobokhidze, one of the leaders of the “European Georgia” party, during an appearance on PalitraNews’ program “Political Space.”
According to Akaki Bobokhidze, if the core group is ready for October 4, the rest of the people will follow.
“I’m not involved and don’t know how prepared those who plan to organize something on October 4 are. I know one thing: if the core group is sufficient in number, then the people are ready to follow, but if the people alone have to organize at that moment, we’ve already seen such a thing. There were unprecedented large-scale rallies. Do you know why those rallies didn’t go all the way? Because they were spontaneous, and spontaneous rallies can develop like the Nepal scenario—God forbid—a catastrophe to witness, horrific things, lynchings are horrific, no matter how corrupt the people involved may be,” said Akaki Bobokhidze.
According to Akaki Bobokhidze, if the “Georgian Dream” government does not fall on October 4, the fight must continue.
“Do we absolutely want it to end on October 4? I wouldn’t object to October 5 or even to it ending in January. Let’s start working with patience. If it ends on the 4th, won’t everything be fine? On the 5th, we can start thinking about how to begin rebuilding the country. But if it doesn’t end on the 4th, why stop fighting? How many times do you have to try to climb out of a pit? Until you get out, what else is there to do in the pit? The path we’ve started, of which we haven’t even covered a tenth, we must follow to the end,” said Akaki Bobokhidze.
