Police detained a person wanted since 2004 for various crimes

Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Kvemo Kartli and Patrol Police Departments, as a result of joint operational and search activities, detained I.A., born in 1987, who was wanted for various crimes. This information was released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

“I.A. was wanted by law enforcement agencies since 2004 on charges of intentional infliction of bodily harm and committing acts of a sexual nature. Law enforcement officers detained the convict at Tbilisi International Airport while he was attempting to cross the border using a passport issued in someone else’s name.

The accused has been transferred to a penitentiary facility,” the statement reads.
