Alexandre Kartozia appointed as Georgia’s Ambassador to Germany

Alexandre Kartozia has been appointed as Georgia’s Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany. This information was disseminated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the ministry’s statement, Alexandre Kartozia has significant experience working in public institutions.

“At various times, he served as the Minister of Education and Director of the National Library of the Georgian Parliament.

Alexandre Kartozia has held leading academic positions at the Georgian State University and has worked as a researcher, as well as leading lecture and seminar courses at prominent universities in Berlin, Frankfurt, and Bremen.

As a scientist and translator, Alexandre Kartozia has made significant contributions to deepening German-Georgian cultural relations.

In 2022, he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany – the ‘Cross of Merit,’” the statement reads.
