A report was received regarding a shooting from one of the hotel rooms - at this stage, the examination of the scene has not been completed and I cannot say whether the weapon has been seized, - the Director of the Tbilisi Police Department, Vazha Siradze, told journalists at the Holiday Inn.

According to him, an investigation into the incident has been launched under Articles 236 and 151 of the Criminal Code, which include threats and illegal possession, purchase, and carrying of firearms.

When asked whether the detained person was alone, Siradze noted that “yes, he was alone.”

For information, special forces, police and rescue teams were mobilized near the Holiday Inn Hotel.

According to reports, the detained person is a guest at the hotel. According to those present at the scene, they also heard gunshots.
