The Prosecutor's Office is requesting the use of pre-trial detention as a preventive measure against the parents of the former director of the Co-Investment Fund, Giorgi Bachiashvili.
The trial is currently underway at the Tbilisi City Court.
Giorgi Bachiashvili's mother, Marina Ramazashvili, and father, Aleksandre Bachiashvili, are not in Georgia. They were charged in absentia.
According to the Prosecutor's Office, Giorgi Bachiashvili legalized illegal income from assets obtained through criminal means in the amount of 2,944,957 USD and 1,097,187 GEL in 2017-2023 with the help of his parents.
Both of them were charged with the crime provided for in Article 25, Section 194, Subparagraph "c", Part 3 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides for imprisonment for a term of 9 to 12 years as the form and measure of punishment.
