Igor Narmania, injured during a confrontation near the Mtkvari Bridge, was taken to the hospital with injuries to his head.
According to activists, another person, a 15-year-old boy, was also injured after being attacked by unknown individuals. An ambulance team took him to the hospital as well.
The confrontation began when students and activists were preparing to make a joint statement regarding the rally announced for tomorrow.
According to eyewitnesses, unknown individuals attacked the young people and brutally assaulted them.
“We, the youth, were gathered here to make a statement, and ‘Georgian Dream’s’ ‘titushky’ wanted to disrupt this statement. About 50 ‘titushky,’ mobilized by ‘Georgian Dream,’ staged an ambush. They were armed with batons; they didn’t even come with just their fists. Igor Narmania and 15-year-old Andria sustained injuries to their heads. On October 4, we will all be in the streets; the Russian regime in Georgia must end,” stated activist Beka Papashvili.
