Kakha Kaladze: The EU is not interesting at all, neither Kallas nor Kos can save you, because people do not support you - the masters of the country are ordinary citizens, not Kallas, Malas or some outsiders

The European Union is not interesting at all. The most important thing for me is His Excellency the Georgian people, - this is how Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze assessed the statement of the Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas, and the EU Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos.

Kaladze addressed journalists: "Kallas and Kos cannot help you."

"Let's wait for our response. We will have a response to the above-mentioned statements tomorrow. The general message will be sounded and let's wait for this statement. My position is simple - neither Kallas nor Kos can save you because the Georgian people do not support you. The European Union is not interesting at all. The most important thing for me is His Excellency the Georgian people. You should understand one thing - the masters of this country are ordinary citizens, whom you see here, the population of the country, and not some Kallas, Malas or some people from outside. Understand this, understand. This country is governed solely by His Excellency the Georgian people, they decide who should be in power and they decide how the opposition spectrum should be represented," Kaladze said.

The High Representative of the European Union, Vice-President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas, and the EU Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, issued a joint statement regarding the local elections held in Georgia.

The statement states that the local elections in Georgia were “held amid a period of extensive crackdown on dissent.”
