Paata Manjgaladze: We were not an organized group; nothing connected us except for taking a photo; I do not feel guilty in any part – I have always said that I supported the rally, but I was not an organizer

“We were not an organized group; nothing connected us except for taking a photo – I do not feel guilty in any part,” said Paata Manjgaladze, one of the leaders of Strategy Aghmashenebeli detained in connection with the October 4 events, during the court hearing.

According to Manjgaladze, he has always stated that while he supported the rally, he was not one of its organizers.

He emphasized that people took to the streets out of love for their homeland and freedom, and if injustice continues, they will take to the streets again.

“First of all, I want to apologize and thank the people who stand by me. But regarding what we are being accused of – I do not feel guilty in any part. I am a constitutionalist and I know very well how and when I acted.

‘Power is usurped, and peaceful change is necessary’ – I have never said anything beyond that, and I am saying the same now.

Our only goal was peaceful change. I stood with those people and acted peacefully, constitutionally, and did nothing beyond that. No one was there for any position or power. People came out for love of their homeland and freedom – and they will come out again if this injustice continues.

Our motivation is not to destroy anyone – our motivation is to return power to the people, to whom it rightfully belongs. The people at that rally were Georgian citizens peacefully demanding change.

I have always said that I supported the rally, but I was not an organizer,” Manjgaladze said.
