Gia Volski: The fence of the President’s Palace is not designed to withstand a furious, enraged mass crashing into it and demolishing it - “The fence was weak” resembles an incompetent attempt at self-justification

The fence of the President’s Palace is not designed to withstand a furious, enraged mass crashing into it and demolishing it - the low quality of the fence should not determine political assessments. This is the same as saying, “I stabbed him and he died because I thought he was wearing a bulletproof vest, but apparently he wasn’t. Would he not have died if he had been wearing a bulletproof vest?!” stated Parliament’s First Vice-Speaker, Gia Volski, to journalists.

According to him, questions regarding whether the fence at Atoneli Palace was adequately reinforced resemble an incompetent attempt at self-justification.

“You know what a provocation is, right? Of course it is, but is there really a provocation here?! You know about the whining since 2020 about somehow gathering masculine strength. Finally, they gathered masculine strength on October 4 and furiously called for an attack. Of course, a lawyer like Beselia says that provoking a crime is a crime. Obviously it is, but was there a provocation here?! The question is whether the provocation is happening. From the Prime Minister to the ordinary police officer, everyone warned with quite warm words. I think questions about the fence being weak resemble an incompetent attempt at self-justification,” Volski stated.
