About 20 participants of the rally who directly participated in the attempt to illegally block the road have been administratively detained, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

As for the young woman who got into the police car, she has been detained under Article 239 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which refers to hooliganism.

“Today, from approximately 8:00 p.m., several participants of the rally gathered on Rustaveli Avenue illegally attempted to block the road.

Despite the fact that the patrol police representatives repeatedly warned the protesters not to commit an illegal act, as their number did not give them the legal right to block the roadway, the participants of the rally did not heed the call of law enforcement officers.

Accordingly, about 20 participants of the rally who directly participated in the attempt to illegally block the road have been administratively detained.

As for the young woman who did not obey the lawful call of law enforcement officers, climbed onto a patrol police car and insulted law enforcement officials, their dignity and uniform, as well as the public - she is being detained under the Criminal Code of Georgia, Article 239 of the Code, which refers to hooliganism.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs once again calls on the participants of the rally to refrain from artificially and illegally blocking the road and committing criminal offenses, otherwise measures provided for by law will be taken against them," reads the statement.
