I welcome the fact that the European Parliament has decided to award the annual Sakharov Prize to two imprisoned journalists - Belarusian Andrzej Poczobut and Georgian Mzia Amaglobeli, - the EU Ambassador to Georgia, Pawel Herczynski, told journalists.

According to him, for the European Parliament these two journalists are a symbol of journalistic freedom and courage.

“For the European Parliament these two journalists are a symbol of journalistic freedom and courage to speak out and criticize the government, and this was the decision of the European Parliament,” the Ambassador noted.
