Judge: It is unfortunate when any Georgian citizen is sanctioned - there is no pressure; every judge handles cases with their own responsibility

"It is an unfortunate fact when any Georgian citizen is sanctioned, and the imprisonment of individuals is not a welcome circumstance either. However, every case is handled by a judge based on relevant evidence," stated Judge Diana Gogatishvili to journalists following the conclusion of the 36th Conference of Judges.

In response to a question about whether there is pressure on judges, she noted that every judge handles cases with their own responsibility.

"There is no pressure - every judge handles cases with their own responsibility," the judge stated.

According to her, no other judge has the right to evaluate or judge the decisions of another judge.

"Of course, it is an unfortunate fact when any Georgian citizen is sanctioned, and the imprisonment of individuals is not a welcome circumstance either. However, every case is handled by a judge based on relevant evidence, and no other judge has the authority to criticize, approve, or evaluate those decisions," the judge stated.
