Andria Liluashvili, detained for laundering a particularly large amount of illegal income, has been sentenced to pre-trial detention as a preventive measure

This decision was made by Tbilisi City Court Judge Nana Shamathava.

Today’s hearing, where the imposition of a preventive measure for Andria Liluashvili, cousin of Grigol Liluashvili, was discussed, was held behind closed doors for the media.

The prosecution requested detention as a preventive measure for the detainee, while the defense sought his release without a preventive measure, offering bail of 300,000 GEL as an alternative to the court.

Andria Liluashvili does not admit to the charges.

For reference, Andria Liluashvili was charged under Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides for imprisonment from 9 to 12 years as a penalty.
