"I am instructing you once again to obtain evidence confirming the circumstances that Tamar Giorgadze was on the roadway and was artificially blocking it when there were not enough people to justify it," said Judge Nino Enukidze to representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
At today’s hearing, the issue of imposing an administrative penalty on activist Tamar Giorgadze was to be discussed. The consideration of this case was postponed at the previous hearing because the Ministry of Internal Affairs representatives were required to present video evidence confirming Giorgadze’s blocking of the road, but this evidence was not presented at today’s hearing either.
Following this, the judge addressed the administrative body and granted additional time for the submission of video evidence.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs representative attempted to state their position, but Enukidze did not allow it.
"You have been given an assignment, and you must fulfill it. I do not consider polemics or discussion appropriate here!" the judge told the Ministry’s lawyer.
At today’s hearing, the defense presented video material, which, according to them, shows that the activist was not on the roadway and was detained on the sidewalk.
The next hearing is scheduled for November 17 at 11:00 AM. By this time, the Ministry of Internal Affairs is required to submit the video material.
Tamar Giorgadze was detained on Rustaveli Avenue on October 22. She is charged with offenses under Part 10 of Article 174 and Article 173 of the Administrative Offenses Code, which pertain to failure to comply with a lawful police demand and artificially blocking the roadway.
