Law enforcement officers arrested a 43-year-old man in Kakheti on charges of murder and attempted murder.
As stated in the information released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the accused shot two people with a hunting rifle in Sighnaghi Municipality out of revenge, resulting in one death.
"Employees of the Kakheti Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operational-search measures and investigative actions conducted on a hot trail, arrested Z.Z., born in 1982 and previously convicted, on charges of intentional murder and attempted murder.
The crimes carry a penalty of 16 to 20 years or life imprisonment.
The investigation established that the accused shot and injured T.G., born in 1975, and N.K., born in 1984, with a hunting rifle in Sighnaghi Municipality out of revenge, after which he fled the scene. As a result of the incident, T.G. died on the spot, while N.K. is receiving medical treatment in a clinic; his health condition is serious.
As a result of operational measures and investigative actions conducted on a hot trail, police arrested Z.Z. as the accused.

The investigation is ongoing under Article 11 prima 19-109, subparagraphs 'k' and 'l' of the Criminal Code of Georgia," the statement reads.
