Jemal Ananidze, member of "Gakharia for Georgia," applies to suspend his Batumi City Council mandate

Jemal Ananidze, a member of "Gakharia for Georgia" who was elected to the Batumi City Council and is also on the party's parliamentary list, has applied to suspend his Batumi City Council mandate.

For reference, members of Gakharia's party have formed a faction in Parliament. The faction will consist of 10 deputies. Jemal Ananidze is not among the faction members, though his parliamentary mandate was recognized along with other substitute members from Gakharia's party.

As a reminder, "Gakharia for Georgia" has 12 mandates in Parliament, but one deputy, Rusudan Tevzadze, refused to take up her mandate and left the party. It is currently unknown which member from "Gakharia for Georgia's" electoral list will replace Rusudan Tevzadze in Parliament. According to the party, discussions on this issue are ongoing, as some members of the electoral list are no longer in the party.
