Giorgi Sharashidze: The exact same 89 deputies who applauded Revaz Sokhadze the day before yesterday were applauding Irakli Karseladze about a year ago - The Prosecutor's Office should be in every ministry, including Tbilisi City Hall right now

The 89 deputies who applauded Revaz Sokhadze the day before yesterday were, about a year ago, when Mr. Karseladze appeared in Parliament in the interpellation format, exactly the same 89 deputies applauding Irakli Karseladze, - Parliament deputy from the "Gakharia for Georgia" party, Giorgi Sharashidze, stated this on "PalitraNews" program "360 Degrees."

As Sharashidze noted, the responsibility for the recently uncovered corruption facts lies with the Georgian Parliament and the entire "Georgian Dream."

According to him, this is not a fight against corruption but "the replacement of one clan with another."

"Political responsibility fully lies with 'Georgian Dream.' First and foremost, responsibility lies with Parliament - the Parliament whose main duty was oversight and control - and overall, responsibility lies with the entire government.

If we go out on the street and stop ten people for a survey, asking them to name one politician associated with corruption, nine out of ten will say it is Kaladze. Meanwhile, Kobakhidze pretends to fight corruption with one hand while presenting Kaladze as Tbilisi Mayor for a third term with the other. This is nothing but the replacement of one clan with another. The Garibashvili-Liluashvili clan is now being replaced by the Kobakhidze-Kaladze clan.

The already uncovered facts confirm, and they themselves admit, that this was systemic. If it was systemic, then what logic is there that out of ten ministries, there is a systemic problem in five and not in the other five?

The Prosecutor's Office should be in every ministry, in Tbilisi City Hall right now, in other municipalities, in LEPLs, in NNLEs..." Sharashidze stated.

Sharashidze also responded to criticism regarding his team's entry into Parliament, noting that "Gakharia for Georgia" is "not a street party and plans to change the government through elections."

"The 'National Movement' itself comes out and says they do not believe the government should be changed through elections; they do not consider elections as an instrument for changing power. Then what do you need a political party for? The sole purpose of founding a political party is to participate in elections and change the government. We agree with this - are we afraid to admit it? We are not apologizing to anyone for wanting a political party to participate in elections and defeat the government through elections. They themselves say they do not want to participate in elections and that nothing makes sense anymore.

We are not a street party; we have the right to our own political positioning. We founded the party four years ago so that, no matter the cost, we would change this government through peaceful, civilized, democratic means. We are not street politicians, and I am not ashamed to admit it. If our team members had offices and cars, no one would even dream of it, but by their own will and bold political decisions, they left those offices and came with us," Giorgi Sharashidze stated.
