One of the individuals involved in the group assault against two employees of the supermarket “SPAR” is Jako (Jansugh) Charkviani, the son of singer Mamuka Charkviani.
As his aunt, Tako Charkviani, told Interpressnews, her nephew has not been detained, has not been questioned, and does not intend to hide.
According to her, her nephew was called by Manana Giorgobiani, who asked him for help.
“As far as I know, this woman [Manana Giorgobiani] called him, saying, ‘They’re beating me, help me.’ She is the mother of Jako’s deceased friend. In the video, you can even hear the phrase, ‘I’ll call the boys now,’ and then she says, ‘This one and another one hit me.’ People have been completely misled… I don’t understand how a woman could call kids her son’s age for help. When the mother of your late friend calls and says, ‘They’re hitting me, please help,’ it’s a human reaction to go there. I’m not saying this to justify him, but that’s what happened. There are many eyewitnesses,” said Charkviani.
For reference, on the night of November 2, two employees of the supermarket “SPAR” were physically assaulted. Law enforcement officers detained Manana Giorgobiani for organizing and participating in group violence.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Manana Giorgobiani contacted Jako Jansugh Charkviani, who arrived at the scene with several companions. They forcibly took the two supermarket employees outside and assaulted them as a group.
The investigation is underway under Articles 225 and 126 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which concern group violence and organizing group violence.
