70-year-old Vazha Berishvili, Beka Agulashvili, and Anuka Gamakhurdia sentenced to short administrative detentions for Rustaveli Avenue protest

The 70-year-old Vazha Berishvili, who was held administratively accountable, was recognized by the court as an administrative offender. Judge Tornike Kochkiani sentenced him to 1 day of administrative detention.

He was arrested last night at 21:45 and is scheduled to leave the detention facility today at the same time.

Demonstrator Beka Agulashvili was also recognized as an administrative offender by Judge Koba Chagunava and sentenced to 5 days of administrative detention.

Anuka Gamakhurdia was likewise found to be an administrative offender and sentenced to 2 days of administrative detention by court decision.

Several other court proceedings for additional detainees are still ongoing.

The detainees are accused under Article 174¹(10) of the Administrative Offenses Code, which pertains to the deliberate obstruction of the roadway.
