Maka Bochorishvili: I hope that by 2030 the European Union will be in a position to give real substance to its enlargement policy and open its doors - The Georgian government is not lying - in five years, Georgia will be even further ahead and better prepared

When the European Union opens its doors to new states, Georgia will be the best-prepared among the candidate countries for membership, considering the progress Georgia has made in recent years. We have every reason to think positively, — this was stated by Georgia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maka Bochorishvili, during a conversation with journalists.

According to the head of the Foreign Ministry, even today, Georgia is the best-prepared state among the candidate countries.

“I hope that by 2030 the European Union will be in a position to give real substance to its enlargement policy and open its doors to new states so that they can join the EU. The Georgian government is not lying. The Georgian government states that Georgia will be the best-prepared candidate country at the time when the EU opens its doors to new member states. Even today, Georgia is the best-prepared state. Considering the progress Georgia has made in recent years, we have every reason to think positively — to think that in the next five years, Georgia will be even further ahead, even better prepared, more aligned with EU standards, and more capable of standing under the EU umbrella alongside developed countries in the competitive environment of the European Union,” said Maka Bochorishvili.
