Police prevent protesters from blocking roadway on Rustaveli Avenue - one person arrested

A protest rally is underway on Rustaveli Avenue.

Participants of the continuous protests tried to block the road near the Parliament, but law enforcement officers did not allow them to do so, during which the police detained one person.

Patrol police crews are mobilized near the legislative body. They have created a cordon in front of the Parliament to prevent citizens from crossing the roadway.

The participants of the rally chanted: “For the truth to the end, for the homeland to the end.”

At the moment, the roadway on Rustaveli Avenue is free and citizens are continuing their protest on the sidewalk.

The demands of those gathered on Rustaveli Avenue remain unchanged - to schedule new elections and release those detained during the protests.
