Maka Bochorishvili - Cooperation, friendship and strategic partnership between Georgia and Armenia are important for both our countries and the prosperity of the region - we will continue to contribute to strengthening regional cooperation

Cooperation, friendship and strategic partnership between Georgia and Armenia are important for both our countries and for the prosperity and stability of the wider region, Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Bochorishvili said after a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan.

As Maka Bochorishvili noted, Georgia has been faithfully playing an important role in the stable and peaceful development of the region.

“It is a sincere pleasure and a great honor for me to host you in Georgia in response to your warm welcome in Yerevan. The relations between Georgia and Armenia are based on a long history of mutual respect, strong friendship between our peoples, which is why the strategic partnership established between our countries since 2024 is a completely logical result of these age-old relations. 2025 was quite dynamic in the relations between our countries, a number of visits were made, including high-level visits. We have visited Yerevan many times, hosted representatives of the government of our friendly country many times. We look forward to the visit of the President in the near future. We can boldly say that the friendship of our peoples, the ties of our countries are fully reflected in the intensity of the political dialogue.

Today we talked about the directions of cooperation, priorities and future steps, issues of future cooperation. We talked about the region. Georgia welcomes the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan signed in Washington on August 8. This historic agreement is a step towards establishing sustainable peace in the South Caucasus.

Georgia has faithfully played an important role in the development of the region, in its stable and peaceful development. It will continue to contribute to strengthening regional cooperation.

Armenia is a strong supporter of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. This is reflected at the international level. Our countries successfully cooperate in various formats and international organizations.

At the meeting with my colleague, we discussed issues of regional and global importance. We also discussed cooperation with our partners, cooperation between Georgia and Armenia, friendship and strategic partnership are important for both our countries and for the prosperity and stability of the wider region,” Bochorishvili noted.
