Ararat Mirzoyan - Our region will really be able to turn into a crossroads, Armenian-Georgian friendship gives us the opportunity for great connections - in addition, the President of Armenia will visit Georgia soon

Each of our countries, a separate region, the South Caucasus, which has great potential, should be connected to each other and strengthen ties with other regions - in this context, the Peace Crossroads project is not new, our region can really turn into a crossroads, - Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, who is in Georgia on an official visa, stated at a joint briefing with his Georgian counterpart Maka Bochorishvili.

As he noted, Armenia’s vision is to have ties with the whole world.

“Madam Minister, beloved Maka, I am glad to return to Tbilisi, this time on an official visit. I would like to thank Ms. Maka for the warm, traditional welcome.

As my esteemed colleague noted, high-level and top-level meetings have been taking place throughout the year. Last month, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia was in Tbilisi to participate in the Silk Road Forum. Georgia will soon be visited by the President of the Republic of Armenia. The relationship between our agencies is daily and covers all areas, from economy to security, from education to culture, as well as people-to-people relations, connections, visits. I will dwell on one direction that is of great importance in modern times, requires greater attention - this is connectivity. When I say connectivity, I mean both macro and micro levels, opening roads in the region between Armenia and Georgia, economic ties at the micro level, connecting people in work, business and various fields. This connectivity is in great demand and is of great importance for the well-being of our citizens. I must note that each of our countries, a separate region, the South Caucasus, which has great potential, should be connected to each other and strengthen ties with other regions. In this context, the Peace Crossroads project is not a novelty. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia presented this project in Georgia. The peace that was established between Armenia and Azerbaijan under the auspices of the US President, we believe, will contribute to the development of the region. Our region will truly be able to become a crossroads - the unblocking of infrastructure between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the Trump road on the territory of Armenia, the international development program, territorial integrity and various principles will give us the opportunity to make a lot of progress, and as a result, peace will be established. This will create peace in all the countries of the South Caucasus, connect with the Persian Gulf, and connect Europe and Central Asia with each other using the Georgian railway. Armenia's vision is to have a connection with the whole world. The traditional Armenian-Georgian friendship gives us the opportunity for great connections, and this can contribute to our relations. We should be able to connect and deepen it further through strategic partnership. We discussed this approach with my colleague and I think there is a mutual and mutually beneficial understanding,” Ararat Mirzoyan said.

According to him, the meeting also discussed issues of business circles, in which they will reach an agreement.

“The connection between our peoples is also expressed in the field of culture, holding the Days of Culture in Armenia and Georgia is of great importance. I should note that in parallel with relations in various directions, the relations between our agencies, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs should be emphasized

We talked about relations with different countries. Next year, in the spring, we will be at the summit of European political circles,” Ararat Mirzoyan said.
