Marta Kos - We are looking for ways to give money to civil society in Georgia without damaging their existence

According to the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, the EU continues to support civil society in Georgia, even though “it is very difficult right now.”

“As for supporting civil society in Georgia, of course [we continue], even though it is very, very difficult right now. As the government is very careful about who we give money to, the financial assistance has doubled and there will be more. Now we are looking for ways to give money without harming their existence. For example, last week I had a dialogue with civil society representatives from candidate countries, where a representative from Georgia was also present,” the European Commissioner said.
