“Cooperation between Georgia and Armenia is extremely important, and it is based on sovereignty, identity, and mutual respect. I am also confident that establishing peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan will turn the South Caucasus into a very attractive logistics center,” said President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan during a joint briefing held together with Mikheil Kavelashvili.
According to him, many topics — including regional issues — were discussed during the meeting with Mikheil Kavelashvili.
“It is especially important that the relations between Georgia and Armenia are grounded in a centuries-old history and mutual respect. The recent high-level and top-level bilateral visits clearly highlight the high degree of relations between Armenia and Georgia. We have elevated our centuries-old friendship to the level of strategic partnership. It has always been strategic, but now it has also been given an official status.
Today I discussed very important issues with my distinguished friend. President Kavelashvili and I reviewed many areas of cooperation and the next steps. Among the topics discussed were economic, cultural, educational, and youth issues. I would like to mention that Armenia is actively preparing for the 17th Conference of the Life Convention and the 8th European Civil Forum, and we look forward to Georgia's participation.
We also discussed regional topics, including the subject of the peace agreement signed on August 8 and the development of economic matters, which align with the peace agreement presented by the Republic of Armenia.
As we have already mentioned, our cooperation — based on sovereignty, identity, and mutual respect — is extremely important. I am confident that establishing peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan will turn the South Caucasus into a very attractive logistics hub,” stated the President of Armenia.
