Tengiz Sharmanashvili - The PACE delegation arrived with an already written conclusion - they first write a conclusion, then arrive and formally walk around, as if this conclusion stems from what they saw after arriving in Georgia

The PACE delegation arrived with an already written conclusion - this is how they generally behave, they first write a conclusion, then arrive and formally walk around, as if this conclusion stems from what they saw after arriving in Georgia, - Georgian Dream MP Tengiz Sharmanashvili told journalists, responding to the statement of the PACE co-rapporteurs.

According to him, until such an approach is taken, nothing good will come of this dialogue.

“This is how they generally behave, they first write a conclusion, then they arrive and formally walk here and there, as if this conclusion follows from what they saw after arriving in Georgia. These conclusions have been written for a long time and these obsessive ideas have been declared for a long time. This is not the only case. 2 days ago they published that we are in first place in terms of the economic development index and forecast, other candidates who are there are far behind us, other indices published by the European Union, including those related to democracy, show us as leaders, and then they conclude that Moldova and Ukraine are ahead of Georgia - where is the logic?

The logic is one thing, that they first write a conclusion and then look for invented facts, that they have no objection to this conclusion. Until they have such an approach, nothing good will come out of this dialogue.

We say that we will sit down and prove to you that these laws are in line with international law, our aspiration to the European Union, and we have reasons why we adopted this legislation. The vast majority of this legislation operates in different forms in different countries of the European Union for the same purposes," Sharmanashvili said.

In addition, the MP responded to the postponed meeting of the Georgia-EU dialogue on human rights issues, which had been scheduled for November 21, 2025 in Brussels.

According to his assessment, the EU side “avoided direct dialogue on real issues.”
