Giorgi Sharashidze, a member of the "Gakharia For Georgia" party, urged everyone, including EU officials, to take Georgia’s European future more seriously, commenting on the EU’s decision to cancel the Georgia-EU dialogue.
“I call on everyone, including EU bureaucrats, that when it comes to Georgia’s European future, this issue must be approached with greater seriousness,” Sharashidze told journalists.
He stated that Georgian Dream is doing everything to leave European partners no choice but to consider extreme measures.
“The only party responsible for this is Georgian Dream. Any meeting or platform should be used by us, as a country, to safeguard Georgia’s European perspective and future. This topic is so important that manipulations and the deliberate involvement of a sanctioned individual, which forces the EU to cancel a meeting and then blame it in propaganda, are unacceptable. This is a dirty game with Georgia’s European future. We should focus on saving the country and examining how Georgian Dream used tricks and then blamed the EU. When it comes to Georgia’s European-democratic future, we must not let this happen. Therefore, I call on everyone, including EU bureaucrats, to approach this issue with more seriousness. Everything is expected from Georgian Dream. They use everything for demagogy and propaganda - whatever they ruin themselves, they blame others. This practice has been tested internally for years, and now they have extended it to Europe, seeking to blame others as if there were no wrongdoers in their own team.”
For context, the EU-Georgia dialogue on human rights, initially scheduled for November 21, 2025, in Brussels, was postponed by the EU a few days before the meeting.
