Luka Dzadzamia: No one is talking about leaving the Georgian Dream team; I remain loyal to my team and my homeland - On Rustaveli Avenue we see either misled people or traitors to the motherland who rejoice thanks to foreign funding

I remain loyal to my team and my homeland. My goal, as it has always been, is to strive for the public good. I was in the Georgian Dream team, and no one is talking about me leaving the Georgian Dream team, said Luka Dzadzamia, the newly elected Georgian Dream deputy in the Tbilisi City Assembly, who voluntarily gave up his mandate.

As Dzadzamia explained, he was present on Rustaveli Avenue not during the November 2024 protests, but at the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023.

"I made the decision to relinquish my mandate in the Tbilisi City Assembly. My aspiration and goal has always been to protect and advance public interests. I made this decision to achieve that goal. As you know, during this period I was the target of numerous attacks. I will continue my activities with a new status. Using my personal resources, I will work toward these goals – caring for our fellow citizens and securing a better future for them. You will receive detailed information about my future plans in due course.

Despite taking responsibility at a young age, which was followed by personal attacks and attempts to discredit me and the people dear to me by radical groups, my views and position have not changed. I remain loyal to my team and my homeland. With my personal resources, I will do everything necessary to protect these values and ensure the well-being of our people.

The supporters of Georgian Dream and the overwhelming majority of Tbilisi citizens have shown enormous trust in me and our team. We achieved a historic victory. I thank every voter and supporter for that trust. I am confident that the current composition of the Tbilisi City Assembly will continue the worthy work of previous assemblies, and I wish great success to the person who will replace me.

As for my future plans – my goal remains the same: striving for public welfare. There was no hint or pressure from the Georgian Dream side. There were attempts at bullying, though I wouldn’t say I became a victim of bullying – but there were clearly attempts. No one was “planted” on Rustaveli Avenue. The very term “planted” is insulting and the accusation is baseless. I consider myself a person with a patriotic spirit and I remain of the same conviction. I was in the Georgian Dream team, and no one is talking about me leaving it.

Regarding the footage of me at the protests: during the November 2024 protests I was in Spain. I did not leave Spain for several months before or after that period. The footage in question is not from 2024 – it is from the period between late 2022 and early 2023," Luka Dzadzamia said.

When asked whether he might join the current protests on Rustaveli Avenue again, Dzadzamia replied that the people standing there are "either misled individuals or traitors to the motherland."

"If we see anyone on Rustaveli Avenue, we will see either people who have been misled or traitors to the motherland who simply rejoice at the expense of foreign funding," Luka Dzadzamia declared.

For context: Luka Dzadzamia has left the Tbilisi City Assembly. The 21-year-old entered the Assembly on the Georgian Dream proportional list following the local elections held on October 4, 2025.
