Mikheil Kavelashvili pardons 49 people on St. George’s Day

On the occasion of St. George’s Day (Giorgoba), Mikheil Kavelashvili has pardoned 49 individuals.

The pardon applies to 14 people serving non-custodial sentences and 34 people serving prison sentences, while one person has had their criminal record expunged.

“The exercise by the President of Georgia of the exclusive constitutional authority granted to him is based on the principle of humanism and the interests of the state,” the statement reads.
