“During the Rose Revolution, goodness, success, light, and the future triumphed over the past, over hardship, hopelessness, corruption, and darkness,” said Tina Bokuchava, Chairwoman of the United National Movement, on the 22nd anniversary of the Rose Revolution.
As she told journalists, Georgia still has to see this fight through to the end.
“First of all, I want to wish every citizen of Georgia and every Orthodox Christian a happy St. George’s Day, a holiday that is deeply precious to all Christians and especially to us Georgians, because St. George is the patron saint of Georgia and the symbol, in the Christian world, of the victory of good over evil. The Rose Revolution was exactly that: when goodness, success, light, and the future defeated the past, hardship, hopelessness, corruption, and darkness. But our country still has to carry this struggle and this cross to the very end. I am certain that, with the same kind of unity the Georgian people showed on Giorgoba in 2003, we will once again be able to prove the logic of humanity and Christianity: that goodness always triumphs over evil,” Bokuchava declared.
