Gia Volski on peace plan - Pragmatism requires that the war be stopped at this stage, otherwise the destruction and casualties will continue - some people are in favor of peace, others are in favor of the development of war, in this case the European bureaucracy appears to be a "war party"

The European bureaucracy appears to be a "war party" - there are interests of specific countries and unions, some are in favor of peace, others are in favor of the development of war, - the First Vice-Speaker of the Parliament, Gia Volski, told journalists.

According to him, pragmatism requires stopping the war at this stage, otherwise the destruction and casualties will continue.

"We remember that the former US administration and Europe acted together when Zelensky was not allowed to continue negotiations. Then Zelensky and the leaders of his party stated in this regard that negotiations were possible, but they were not allowed to do so. This is a similar period now, with significant changes. Many people have died, blood has been shed, many tears have been shed, cities have been destroyed. In practice, the draft agreement that was [proposed] by the new US administration says one thing - pragmatism requires stopping [the war] at this stage, otherwise the destruction and victims will continue. In this reality, of course, the European Union has its own position, not all countries, but let's conditionally call the Brussels bureaucracy the "war party", which does not agree to end the war under such conditions. Accordingly, a pragmatic offer from Washington is unacceptable to them, and it turns out that Ukraine should not decide whether the bloodshed and destruction in the country will continue, but the European bureaucracy. Of course, this reality exists, and the preconditions for this reality were largely created by certain European countries and Brussels. Unfortunately, it is a fact that huge resources have been spent, including by Europe, but let us also remember that much more has been paid by Europe to Russia to purchase energy resources than to help Ukraine in the war. So, there is no double standard. Here are the interests of specific country unions. Some are in favor of peace, others are in favor of the development of war. In this case, the European bureaucracy appears as a "party to war," - said Volski.
