Tender for the construction of a new national stadium in Tbilisi has been terminated

The Tender Commission of the Municipal Development Fund has announced that, at this stage, it was unable to select a winning company for the project to build a new 70,000-seat national stadium in Tbilisi.

As stated in the information released by the Fund, it is necessary to re-examine the tender documentation, including the client’s requirements and qualification criteria, in order to make the process more comprehensive and competitive.

“Because only one bidder met the tender’s qualification criteria, and its bid was significantly higher than the prices offered by the other participants, the Commission exercised its legal right and deemed it necessary to re-evaluate the conditions and make appropriate changes,” the statement reads.

For reference: On August 15, the Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Infrastructure announced a tender for the design and construction of a new UEFA Category IV stadium in Tbilisi.
