“October 4 was a provocation planned by the government. The organizers themselves admit that they had planned many things differently, but there were traitors who gave the final part of the protest the shape it took,” — said Nugzar Tsiklauri, one of the leaders of the Coalition for Change.
As Tsiklauri noted on PalitraNews’ program “360 Degrees,” if a violent scenario on October 4 had really been planned, both the process and the outcome would have unfolded differently.
Tsiklauri says he does not have additional information and that the “confidential details” will become public in due time.
“How could I know? This is confidential information. It will become clear when they themselves decide to speak. They already said that the time will come when they will talk and reveal everything — including the events that preceded this massive protest. I have no other information; if I did, I would not speak about it without Paata and Murtaz. The main issue is to think about why these people, who had international recognition, needed to spend 300 days with the Georgian people in the cold and under dispersals. That’s what we must think about.
If there had really been an armed or violent scenario, believe me, it would have been prepared differently and would not have ended the way it did.
This was a provocation orchestrated by the government. The organizers themselves say they also had many things planned differently, but there were traitors who gave this form to the final phase of the protest. Until they speak about this themselves, how can I talk instead of them?” Tsiklauri stated.
He also spoke about the rally planned for November 28 and noted that the protest will be large in scale.
According to him, no decision has been made yet regarding whether the rally will remain in place without dispersing, but such a scenario is not excluded:
“The November 28 protest will definitely be massive. No decision has been made yet regarding not dispersing the rally. I can’t say that it will happen, but nothing is excluded. Georgian Dream is trying to tell the West that the protest is shrinking. We know what the reality is. It will be one year since Kobakhidze, who is called the Prime Minister, announced an anti-European and anti-Georgian decision. The November 28 protest is dedicated precisely to this. I believe it will be a very large demonstration,” Tsiklauri said.
