At the Tbilisi City Court, a pre-trial hearing is underway for 14 individuals detained in connection with the events that took place on October 4

At today’s hearing, the court will discuss the admissibility of evidence. In addition, the preventive measures imposed on the detainees will be reviewed. The court will also decide whether to transfer the case for substantive consideration.

For reference, Vladimir Gvelesiani, Zurab Chavchanidze, Sergo Megrelishvili, Giorgi Rurua, Amiran Dolishvili, Anton Vardanidze, Giorgi Korkia, Aleksandre Chilachava, Genadi Kupreishvili, Lasha Ivanadze, Levan Jikia, Sulkhan Tugushi, Khvicha Gogokhia, and Ramaz Mumladze have been charged under Article 19-222, Part 2, Sub-paragraph “a” of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which concerns the attempted takeover and blockade of strategic and critically important facilities, committed as a group. They have also been charged under Article 225, Part 2 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to participation in group violence.
