Lawyer: Today, people who defended their homeland with bare hands and the Georgian flag will be put on trial – they are prosecuting Georgians who said “No” to Russian imperialism

Today, Georgians who said “No” to Russian imperialism and defended their homeland with a pure heart will be put on trial. Accusation does not mean guilt – this charge signifies that these people will be righteous before history because they defended their country with bare hands, Lasha Tkesheladze, lawyer for those detained during the October 4 protests – Vladimer Gvelesiani, Sergo Megrelishvili, Lasha Ivanadze, and Genadi Kupreishvili – wrote on social media.

According to him, today the court will try socially vulnerable people who defended Georgia sincerely:

“Today, people who defended the dignity of their country and homeland with bare hands and the Georgian flag will be put on trial.Today, Georgians who said ‘No’ to Russian imperialism and defended their homeland with a pure heart will be put on trial.Accusation does not mean guilt – this charge means that these people will be righteous before history because they defended their homeland with bare hands. These people are prisoners of dignity because on October 4 patriotic Georgians peacefully defended the honor of their homeland.”
