Regarding the events of October 4, the accused Ia Darakhvelidze said: “All these people should be outside like me; I feel guilty that I am not with them.” She made this statement during the court hearing near the Atoneli Palace concerning the events of October 4.

Unlike the other accused, she has been released on bail, and she specifically referred to this fact in court.

"We were helping each other, we were not throwing anything, and I had no intention of taking anything. All these people should be outside like me; I feel guilty that I am not with them. I stand with them and wish freedom for everyone," Darakhvelidze said.

Regarding the charges, the detained Zakro Albuthashvili also spoke. He, too, does not admit to the accusations.

"I did not participate in any wrongdoing… I am already old, 68 years old, I lost my job, I left people without a piece of bread. I ask you to be humane; they are all my brothers, Georgians. Just as I want freedom, so do they. I do not want to die in prison; I want justice to prevail," Albuthashvili said.

For reference, Gocha Katashvili, Sulkhan Abralava, Konstantine Kokaia, Davit Zhgenti, Kakha Mzhavanadze, Alexander Gogoladze, Davit Sturua, Eva Shashiashvili, Zakro Albutashvili, Genadi Kelikhashvili, Dato Ghurtskaia, Ramaz Jorbenadze, Jandri Tirkia, Giorgi Chakhunashvili, and Ia Darakhvelidze were charged under Article 19-222, Part 2(a) of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which concerns the attempt to seize or block strategic and particularly significant objects committed by a group. They are also charged under Article 225, Part 2 of the Criminal Code, which concerns participation in group violence.

Ia Darakhvelidze and Giorgi Chakhunashvili are currently released on bail.
