According to Gedevan Popkhadze, Davit Chelidze, who was on hunger strike near Parliament, was taken to hospital

According to Gedevan Popkhadze, one of the leaders of the Coalition for Change, one of the participants in the hunger strike has been taken to the hospital by ambulance.

According to him, the hunger strike is still ongoing at this stage.

“Davit Chelidze was taken to the hospital by ambulance. He had a problem with heart arrhythmia. He will probably have to stay in the hospital for some time, because he was feeling unwell.

As for the action, the hunger strike continues and we are not going to stop it. We are going to take care of the health of each of us so that the action does not harm the health of any person,” said Gedevan Popkhadze.

For information, Gedevan Popkhadze resorted to an extreme form of protest on October 28 and began a hunger strike. Darejan Tskhvitaria and several other activists declared a hunger strike together with the opposition leader. Their demand is "to release political prisoners and call for new parliamentary elections."
